New Fellowship

Administrative Fellowship in Emergency Medicine announced

Dan Handel, Director of OHSU's Administrative Fellowship in Emergency Medicine OHSU's Department of Emergency Medicine has received approval for its new Administrative Fellowship starting in July of this year. "The Goal of the fellowship," said director Dan Handel, M.D., M.P.H, "is to develop leadership skills of future emergency department medical directors through practical experiences at OHSU in clinical operations, quality management, service excellence, general management and financial management."

 

Dr. Handel also serves as Clinical Director of the Emergency Department and is the Current President of OCEP.

State names OHSU EM Faculty member Mohamud Daya as EMS director of the year

State names OHSU EM Faculty member Mohamud Daya as EMS director of the yearDr. Mohamud Daya’s years of distinctive service with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue to ensure patients receive the best possible care has earned him the state’s highest honor.Daya was named the 2009 Emergency Medical Services Director of the Year during the Oregon Department of Human Services EMS and Trauma Systems’ state awards banquet.

OHSU Doernbecher Opens 24-Hour, Kids-Only Emergency Department

Newly renovated facility is uniquely designed to help decrease anxiety, make patients and families feel more comfortable

OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital now has a dedicated, kids-only Emergency Department (ED) with specially trained emergency medicine physicians and pediatric emergency nurses on site 24 hours a day.
