Fellowship

Administrative Fellowship in Emergency Medicine announced

Dan Handel, Director of OHSU's Administrative Fellowship in Emergency MedicineOHSU's Department of Emergency Medicine has received approval for its new Administrative Fellowship starting in July of this year. "The Goal of the fellowship," said director Dan Handel, M.D., M.P.H, "is to develop leadership skills of future emergency department medical directors through practical experiences at OHSU in clinical operations, quality management, service excellence, general management and financial management."

 

Dr. Handel also serves as Clinical Director of the Emergency Department and is the Current President of OCEP.

Rachel R. Bengtzen, M.D., a Chief Resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine, was honored with a Golden ROSE (Recognizing Outstanding Service Excellence) Award in April by the OHSU Service Excellence Reward and Recognition Committee. Dr. Bengtzen was nominated by a patient she had seen in the ED earlier this year.

Newly renovated facility is uniquely designed to help decrease anxiety, make patients and families feel more comfortable

OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital now has a dedicated, kids-only Emergency Department (ED) with specially trained emergency medicine physicians and pediatric emergency nurses on site 24 hours a day.
